The Prayers and Plans Woman Series: Featuring Amy Okoli
Share
There’s a version of womanhood that doesn’t get talked about enough, the quiet and intentional kind. The kind that shows up while sitting in an unmade bed, writing a journal entry before the day gets loud, in a home that feels like an exhale. That’s the energy Amy Okoli brings to everything she does, and it’s exactly why she’s the first woman we’re featuring in the Prayers & Plans Series.
Meet Amy Okoli, a Lagos-based Influencer, Content Creator and Entrepreneur. Amy is thoughtful about her mornings, her space, her career, and her faith, not in a performative way, but in the way of someone who has simply decided what she wants her life to feel like, and is building toward it, one intentional choice at a time.
We sat down with her to talk about her morning routine, the power of journaling, what home means to her, how travel has shaped her worldview, and the prayers and plans carrying her through this season of life.

Walk us through what the first hours of your day look like.
"The first few hours of my day tend to fly by. I wake up at 6:30 a.m., say a quick prayer, and make my bed before heading straight to the kitchen to prepare a hot lemon water. I then settle at my desk with my Reset Journal, spending a few quiet moments reflecting and setting intentions for the day ahead. After journaling, I take my dogs outside for a quick bathroom break. Once we’re back home, I brush my teeth, wash my face, and apply my moisturiser and sunscreen. With my morning routine complete, I head out for my workout class, ready to start the day feeling refreshed and energised."

You journal regularly. What does that practice give you that nothing else does?
"Journaling brings me a sense of clarity. There’s something about putting your thoughts and feelings onto paper that encourages you to sit with them a little longer. It creates space for reflection, it helps me untangle what’s on my mind, and often brings clarity to thoughts that may have felt overwhelming or unclear before."

Your home is something you’re investing in intentionally. What do you think about the space you’re creating, and what feeling are you always trying to come back to?
"For me, home is meant to feel like a sanctuary. I’m very intentional about the pieces I bring into my space because I want it to reflect how I want to feel every day. More than anything, I’m always trying to come back to a feeling of calm, comfort, and ease.”

Travel changes people. What place genuinely shifted something in you, and why?
"I think every place I’ve travelled to has left its mark on me in some way, but if I had to choose one, it would be a destination that reminded me to slow down and be present. It’s so easy to get caught up in routines, deadlines, and constantly thinking about what’s next, but being somewhere new has a way of pulling you into the moment. Travel has taught me that there’s so much beauty in experiencing different cultures, meeting new people, and seeing how others live. It broadens your perspective and reminds you that there isn’t just one way to live a fulfilling life. More than anything, it has made me more. curious, more open-minded, and more appreciative of the life I’m building for myself."
What are your prayers and plans for this season of your life?
"I’m focused on creating a life that feels balanced and meaningful. I want to continue growing my career, exploring new opportunities, traveling more, and investing in the people and experiences that bring genuine joy and value to my life. Above all, I hope to remain present through it all, trusting the process while continuing to evolve into the person I’m meant to become."
Amy’s story is the first of many in the Prayers & Plans Woman Series, a space where we celebrate the women building intentional lives, one prayer and one plan at a time. We hope Amy can inspire you to live more intentionally and embrace the live you're building for yourself. Stay tuned for the next feature.
